Tow Truck Clarkston

Tow Truck Needed when Overhead Powerlines Closeline Dump Truck

A tow truck was needed after a dump truck was clotheslined by overhead powerlines. You would think that a dump truck would burst and breakthrough power lines, but that’s not what happened.

The power lines and the dump truck were at the same height and as the truck rounded the corner, the lip of the truck container edge caught on and locked onto the powerline. Imagine a linebacker leveling a running back trying to get a first down, and as the truck burst through, the power lines held firm and the dump trailer twisted up, then around and then hinged to the ground. The cab followed due to the weight of the container.

The weight and all the parts on the dump truck made this one a bit complicated for the tow truck team. The cab had to be attached to the trailer with chains and the trailer had to be attached to the dump container with chains. We also detached the transmission for added security and put on the brake so the truck wouldn’t roll away.    Check out the video of the final upright of the dump truck.  We pulled the whole thing up with two heavy wreckers.

Thanks to all the whole tow truck team on the recovery. Great tow truck teamwork.
